No, the marriage ceremony must be done in person in the presence of the Celebrant, the groom, the bride and their 2 witnesses. Please note that on the NSW Registry of BDM website, there is an option to 'apply' for a marriage certificate online. This means you are applying for a hard copy of the marriage certificate you had lost/misplaced for a marriage that was already registered.

If you cannot provide 1 month notice before marriage date, you will require a Shortening of Time approval from the Prescribed Authorities. We can help you understand and apply for the process. Meanwhile you can access the list of prescribed authorities here: https://marriage.ag.gov.au/stateofficers/authorities

No there is not. You are required to provide 1 month notice. If you are not able to give 1 month notice, you must apply for an exemption known as Shortening of Time. There is no urgent fee apply.

You can also refer to the NSW Registry of Birth, Death and Marriages website for further details: https://www.nsw.gov.au/family-and-relationships/marriages/getting-married-nsw.

If you are sponsoring your partner who is currently residing outside Australia, and requires a letter from the Celebrant to support your Prospective Marriage Visa application to the Immigration Department, we can provide this letter to you upon completion of the Notice of Intended Marriage Form.
